Eligibility
Children who were born in 2000 are eligible for kindergarten in September, 2005. Students who currently attend the preschool (tuition program) at the ECC will automatically be registered in the kindergarten class of 2005. However, immunizations must be up to date for your child to attend kindergarten. Parents are asked to call us if your child is not returning to the ECC for our kindergarten. It will be necessary to provide a birth certificate at the time of registration.
Health Eligibility
Children who are registering for the kindergarten program need to have a physical exam within one year of the school entry date. There are no exceptions for new registrations. However, if a child is transferring from another school they can be given a one-month grace period to present a complete physical if the immunizations are up to date. The physical must include height, weight, blood pressure, Hematocrit/Hemoglobin, gross dental and postural WNL or not, general physical exam section WNL or not, TB: High risk group circle yes or no, and Chronic Disease Assessment. Please be sure all of these areas are filled in prior to leaving your doctor's office.
The physical must be filled in on the Blue State of Connecticut form. It must be signed by a licensed health care professional or stamped with a doctor's signature stamp.
