There is a “new” Parent Teacher Organization starting at PHS. If anyone is interested please come and join. Contact person is Roxanne Boisse. The meetings are on Thursdays. 12/15/05, 1/19/06, 2/16/05, 4/13/06, 5/18/06. They will be from 6:30 to 7:45…..Please come and join.

PFO – Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2006
Attendance: Roxanne Boisse, Kim Swabby, Claudia Zurowski, Christine Silveria, Robin

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Fundraising ideas
Kim submitted various fundraiser ideas. Members agreed on the flag, pizza and flower sales. It was noted that this will be the only fundraiser this school year. At Thanksgiving there will be a pie sale.
The PTO will have a Valentine fundraiser. Flowergrams will be sold for $2.00. Orders will be taken from January 31 to February 7, 2006 to be distributed to classrooms on Valentine’s Day morning.
Events
Flower sales for the Cheerleading competition are on hold due to the possibility of cancellation.
Mr. P.H.S. update
The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Meetings will be every Monday in January and February. During March the contestants will meet twice a week. There are 23 students on the sign up. The format will begin with introductions; contestants will speak for 1 – 2 minutes about themselves and the positive impacts of their High School years. Contestants will then perform a talent, either individual or group. Plans are due at the January 30th meeting. The contestants will then appear in suits or tuxedos. Ten finalists will be chosen and finally will be asked a question. Each contestant will be given 10 questions in advance.
Escorts – 2 senior girls will be voted on to represent P.H.S. as escorts.
Tickets will be $10 adults, $7 students.
Block Scheduling
There was a brief discussion regarding block scheduling. Most input was positive.
