![]() All students, regardless of their academic standing or career aspirations, should have access to a rich and challenging science curriculum that will assure them opportunities to acquire fundamental understandings about life, chemistry, physics and earth science content, as well as the ways in which science knowledge is generated and critiqued.
Science Department news: Miss Courtney Jones and Miss Jessica Bliven attended the Junior and Senior Science Symposium at the University of Connecticut. The Forensics and Anatomy classes had a quest speaker from the Connecticut State Crime Lab. Dr Robert Powers spoke to the class on Forensic Toxicology Dr. Richard O’Sullivan, a researcher at Pfizer and Harvard spoke to the Anatomy class about the neurology of the brain. Two of Plainfield’s Physics students competed in the Toshiba NSTA Explora vision Contest. The students designed web pages to promote the understanding of fuel cells.
SCIENCE OPPORTUNITIES and SCHOLARSHIPS Brown University Summer Science Courses Courses are one to seven weeks long, and include topics ranging from the Brain, Stem cells, Clinical Psychology and Nanotechnology.
