PHS ATHLETIC BOOSTERS

Meetings are held:

Third Wednesday of the month at 7pm in the High School Cafeteria

What is our function?

The function of the Boosters is to assist the Athletic program at Plainfield High School.

How do we do this?

We perform this function by raising money through concessions and other fund raising events throughout the school year.

What types of fund raising do we do?

We run concessions at all home football and basketball games.  We also sponsor the annual Panther Plunge and Spaghetti Supper before the Thanksgiving football game as well as the annual Pancake Breakfast.  A few new events are the Central Village Fire Department BBQ Chicken Dinner in the spring and the Court Jesters Celebrity Basketball Game.

What do we do with the money we raise?

We provide equipment, uniforms and other items that are needed or provide extra items that are wanted by the Athletic department.

Like what?

Several thousand dollars worth of weight equipment, cheerleading uniforms, basketball scorers table and sticky mats, chair covers, football girdles, batting cages, soccer goalie shirt, easy-up tent and hydration beverages for track and cross-country, and much, much more over the past several years.

What is our organizations structure?

A minimum of ten (10) meetings shall be held annually.  The basic concept of majority rule is adhered to in all decisions made by the Boosters.  The governing body is a board, consisting of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer as well as the membership in good standing.  Terms of office of each officer shall be for a period of one (1) year starting September 1st.  Nominations will be accepted during the May meeting and voted on in June.
