Enhanced Student Thumbnails for Better Classroom Insight

Lightspeed Classroom Management has introduced new thumbnails to assist teachers in troubleshooting why a students active screen is not appearing in Classroom Management. The appropriate thumbnail will appear to provide context and help explain why the screen is not showing.
Student Viewing Chrome Settings
Google security restrictions for the Chrome browser do not allow student screens to be displayed when viewing a Chrome settings page. Options to start viewing their screens include asking the students to close their settings page, closing their tab, or redirecting the students to another tab.
Student is Viewing a Blank Tab
The student has opened or switched to a blank tab. Classroom will display the student’s screen once they browse to a website or switch to a tab with content.
Student Doesn’t Have any Tabs Open
The student does not have any browser tabs open on their Chromebook
Cannot Display Student’s Screen
A technical issue is preventing Classroom from displaying the student’s screen. If this error persists across all the student’s tabs, have the student restart their device and try browsing again. If that doesn’t help, please reachout to your IT administrator.
Student is Viewing a District Block Page
The student’s active tab is blocked by the district’s web filter. Classroom will display the student’s screen once the student switches to or browses to allowed content.
Student is Not Online
Classroom cannot connect to the student’s device. If you believe this is an error, please ensure the student's device is powered on and properly connected. Please reach out to your IT administrator for further help if needed.
