RE: Pre k and Kindergarten Orientation.
Pre-K AM 10:30AM
Pre-K PM 11:30AM
I would like to welcome you and your family to Shepard Hill Elementary School (SHE). On Thursday, August 17th, we will hold a brief orientation session, which you and your child are invited to attend. The orientation session will discuss some of the expectations for the school year, as well as some of the procedures and routines at SHE. It is also another opportunity for the incoming students to see their school. Please note that teachers will not be present on August 17th. If your child will be attending Kindergarten, please report to the cafeteria for 9:30AM. If your child is attending AM Pre- K session please report to the cafeteria at 10:30AM, Pre-K PM session should report to the cafeteria at 11:30AM. Once your session is over parents can greet the children off the bus and accompany them to the visit playground if they wish.
An important and especially exciting part of our orientation is a bus ride, at some point during their time at SHE all students will ride a bus. It is important to encourage your child to ride the bus without a parent present. As students take their first bus ride with several experienced paraprofessionals. I will take time to answer any questions or concerns you may have for the upcoming year. The bus driver will provide a brief explanation of bus routines and safety. This has always been a highlight for the students. They get off the bus so proud that they have taken a bus ride without mom or dad.
On Monday, August 28, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM we will hold our open house for students in Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Students will be able to meet their teacher, see their classroom and meet new friends. On Wednesday, August 30, we will hold our open house for Pre-K students 10:00AM to 11:00AM for AM session and 2:00PM to 3:00PM for PM session.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, August 17, 2016. Our office will be open should you have any questions or changes in information.
